Back to school season is almost here. I know, horrible news. When I was growing up, I loved back to school because I got to reinvent myself every August. You know, this is the year I'm going to be emo. This is the year I'm going to be athletic. That didn't pan out. Emo panned out more than athletic. I think that would surprise a lot of people. This is the year that people are going to realize I'm just effortlessly cool. Still waiting on that. You know, hasn't happened. By Labor Day, usually when I was still in school, I was the exact same person eating goldfish during study hall. Nothing changed. I was still not athletic. I was a wannabe emo, and I still wasn't effortlessly cool. This was pre-Maha, Alex, obviously, but maybe this is your reinvention era, not by becoming somebody else, but by finally getting rid of the expensive makeup products that are full of ingredients that you don't fully feel good about, and they break you out, or they just sit in a drawer collecting dust anyway.
