Host: Jake Shane
Publisher: Jake Shane

Welcome to THERAPUSS, a talk show that puts Jake Shane, in the proverbial therapist’s chair. Sitting down with amateur “Therapuss,” Jake’s followers will enter a deep dive therapy session that is both tongue and cheek and deeply introspective. As in Jake's viral Instagram series, Tell Me What's Wrong, guests ranging from industry professionals to his roommates will partner with the "Therapuss" to help their fans through their current drama. Through a website submission system, audience members will now have a direct line to Jake who happens to know a thing or two about FEELINGS.

You guys know that I'm very, very open about my OCD experience on here. OCD can look like a million different things. It can look like your brain making up random rules in order to get good luck or bad luck that's wishful thinking OCD or that's magical thinking OCD you could have to like blurt out things that you think which is confession OCD and OCD if you don't know stands for obsessive compulsive disorder it basically is just really ruminating on the same thought over and over and over and over again and it can manifest in so many different ways. I have struggled with it since I was seven years old. I remember literally I used to have to touch things evenly. It was horrible. It's really horrible. A lot of people don't talk about it, but NoCD does. NoCD is the world's leading treatment provider for OCD. All of their licensed therapists specialize in ERP therapy, exposure and response prevention, something I've actually recently been doing. It's also proven to be the most effective treatment for OCD. For me, I find it to be effective because When you force, when you expose your mind and yourself to these intrusive thoughts and rituals and you sit in the discomfort, it really tells your body that you're still like going to be breathing. At least for me, that's how I view it. And like you expose yourself to what you're scared of. And OCD for me is really based in fear. Therapy with NoCD is 100% virtual and covered by adjourns for over 138 million Americans. It also includes support in between sessions so you never have to face OCD alone. I'm really grateful that I'm able to sit here and talk about it with so many people because when I was a kid, so many people didn't talk about it. I had no idea what I had. I had no idea what it was. And it was really, really scary, to be honest. So I'm so grateful that something like NoCD exists to help people understand around the country struggling with OCD because so many people struggle in silence and it's really horrible cut the struggle in silence my OCD is making me oh my god you guys that's OCD it literally was just like cut the struggle in silence keep that in that's exposure therapy To learn more about starting OCD therapy with NoCD, go to learn.nocd.com slash Jake and book a free call with their team. That's nocd.com slash Jake. Thank you again for sponsoring tonight's episode. I really love working with you guys and bringing more attention to something very important to me.

This episode of Therapist is brought to you by Booking.com. Booking.com. The other week, I watched a trip die in the group chat in real time. I've never experienced it before, but I literally watched it die. And I think the only way that there is to save it is to use booking.com. Everybody has such different preferences. Some want a bath, some want a shower, some want walking distance, some want this area, some want AC. The only way to make sure a group trip happens is to use booking.com because booking.com takes everyone's preferences, and gives you the best options of where to stay. Because once you have where to stay covered, everything else flows. All you need is a roof over your head, a place to call home at the end of the night, and then you can be out and about experiencing whatever city you're in. Right now, I'm trying to beg my friends to go to Nantucket, so I will be using bookie.com to try to find a house for that. I just want to take advantage of the fact that it's summer, it's warm out. Trips are important. Trips are so important. Inside jokes on trips are important. Those are literally my favorite thing in the entire world is when you get to like the final day of the trip and it's like the psychosis of the trip is hitting and you're just laughing at everything. And Booking.com makes that psychosis possible. Go on, book that trip. It's easy. Booking.com. Booking.yeah. Book today on the site or in the app.

Also, I don't know if you guys saw on my Instagram, but I'm doing a giveaway with Headcount because voting is one of the most important rights we have in this country. So just click the link in my bio for a chance to win a FaceTime from me, like a little fun therapist session from me and a PR package from Cotches. Once again, voting is vital and extremely important and Headcount is an organization that makes sure that we all have access to that. Also in the giveaway package is the Puss Casino Cotches merch that we wore in Vegas that I don't think we're ever going to sell. So you get to take action and have the chance to win fun things. And also be reminded that voting is extremely important. Thank you, Headcount, again, for working with me and getting the word out of how important it is to vote and making sure everybody can.

Poppy, poppy, poppy, poppy, poppy, poo. Poppy is the best soda for you. Poppy is my favorite soda in the entire world. I always say this, but if you watch my early, early, early content, like 2023, I was singing, making jingles for Poppy, hoping they would notice me. And now they are sponsoring this season of Therapist. One of my favorite flavors is strawberry lemon. It is, oh my God, I'm going to drink it right now. I'm honestly so thirsty. Oh. It is five grams of sugar. It's a better for you soda. Oh my God, it's just, it's so good. Sorry, I'm gonna have some more. It's summer. You need a refreshing, better-for-you soda this summer, and that is Poppy. I just, I remember the days, I always talk about this, when I used to have to literally search far and wide for Poppy, and now they are in every bodega, every store. It is so incredible, and they are always having new, exciting flavors come out. Strawberry lemon is a classic, so it is a very good entry point into Poppy. My personal favorites are strawberry lemon, cherry limeade. Cherry limeade's my all-time favorite, so I just... Poppy. And it's a better for you soda with only five grams of sugar. Poppy. Soda's back, but so much better. Thank you, Poppy, for sponsoring this episode.

And you have your Wendy's cash? Yes. I like love Wendy's. It's like my favorite place to go every single day I'm there. Like they know me by name. I don't even have to, like, I drive through, they know my order already. They hear our voice, they see our car roll up, and they just know.

This episode of Therapist is brought to you by Booking.com. Booking. Yeah! Yeah! The other day I was on my phone and I was talking to my best friend, Alice, and we were looking at old photos of when we were in Santa Barbara together. And it made me really, really, really want to go back. So Alice and I are now planning a trip to go back to Santa Barbara with Bookie.com. We both have very, very, very specific needs. We like to make sure that we're able to walk because I can't drive. So it's always nice to be able to walk into town. I need air conditioning. We both need air conditioning, a lot of it.
