Warby Parker30:05-31:36
I have a confession and I don't know if Warby Parker wants me to start out with synergy. Isn't that for Warby Parker? But I've been wearing Warby Parker frames pretty exclusively now for a very long time, for years and years, and I needed some new glasses. I had the thought, should I get out there and see what else is happening in the world that is not this trusted brand that I rock with so hard? So I went out and I looked at some other—I went to some glasses businesses and I looked around and I tried some stuff on. I couldn't find a lot of stuff I liked, and then the stuff I thought looked all right was like a thousand goddamn dollars for one pair of glasses everywhere. They were like, let me think, a thousand—pretty much all of them, just outrageous prices and not a lot of great selection, especially for a gentleman who has a carriage of head that is larger than, yeah, medically appropriate. And you know what I did? I went to a Warby Parker brick and mortar, which I'd never done before. I'd done all the shopping online and doing the home try-on program, which is great. But I went into one and I tried on some frames and I was like, 'How much are they?' And they were like, it's not just a normal price but a better than normal price. And I realized, like, I don't need anything else, I just need Warby Parker. 'Is that your full confession, Griffin?' 'That's my full confession, is that I was tempted. I was tempted by the fruit of another. I was tempted by the fruit of another, but then I found out that there actually wasn't any good fruit in the fruit that...'

Oh, could be. Hey, speaking of laundering, I love some new clothes that I got from the Bonobos brand. The Bonobos brand, I have looked at from afar, coveted. Lots of my stylish friends, when I see them looking so fly, I do say to them like, "What's the fit?" And it's almost always Bonobos, because they got all kinds of summertime duds that are, you know, linen, light, breathable. Feels good to have it on your body. But also, the fit is so nice. I got a new, very, very lightweight button-down that I wore to a wedding that I went to like a month ago, and I got some compliments on it, and I didn't sweat—I mean, I did sweat like a lot, because I got on the dance floor and I fucking destroyed for like five straight hours, and but I was so comfortable the whole time. I got some like boardwalk pants, light linen pants that can go from day to night. And I wore them on a boardwalk very recently and felt like Griffin. Holy shit, Griffin! Are you the Great Gatsby? Yeah, kind of—I mean, this is the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk. I would not call it Great Gatsby-sort-of level. It's not West Egg. It's not, yeah. So they got everything, man. They really do, they are able to sort of set you

It's ready to go. 100% human-grade ingredients that you'd find in your fridge, which is where, I mean, that is where I find my cat food is in the fridge, to be fair. but uh my cats love it um i used to do dry food and water for them and i feel like i have a lot better control over what they're eating i think their their coats look healthier they uh are at a healthy weight and we're really a lot more in control of what they're eating than we did with the the dry food and they like you more yeah they like you way less they respect you more now They appreciate me in ways they never did. Fast Growing Trees35:43-36:49
Guys, listen, I bought a tree from fast-grown cheese. You know I love these two apple trees I bought. They're too fast growing. It's overtaking my home. Okay, I don't know that they want a Jumanji danger to be like one of the- They're growing very well. The two apple trees, I mean, while I'll admit there is a bit of hyperbole, they are not destroying my home. They're growing well. They have leaves, some of the hallmarks of good tree growth. You can see I'm not an arborist myself. That's why I'm lucky to have fast-growing trees to depend on. Because the cool thing about them is if you buy a tree from them, first off, you tell where you live, they'll tell you about your growing zones would work well there. And then if you're having problems with your plant, or even if you're not, even if you just need a little help, you can call them. You can talk to a plant expert. Like, really. It's an alive and thrive guarantee. That's an expert in plants, by the way, not a plant that is an expert. That would be so cool, too. They got one of them dancing cactuses there that when you call and ask for help with your trees, he, like, wiggles around. Oh, like from Final Fantasy? He's really cool. I like him a lot. His name's Trevor. Yeah, Trevor's cool, man. DJs. Yeah. Now's the perfect time to plant. They have great deals on spring planting essentials up to half off on select plants. Love Island, Griffin, it has their own drinks at Scooter's Coffee. All right. I don't know why, but Summer Love is in the air at Scooter's Coffee with the launch of four new hot drinks. One of those is just a Red Bull. Hold on. Yeah. They're bombshells. They can only be described as bombshells. With strawberry hard jellies swimming in a pool of strawberry and dragon fruit flavors, it's hard not to fall in love with these refreshing drinks. Launching June 18th. God, I haven't looked for a quote by Nick Lachey in this. There's not one. Sorry, guys. There is. Okay. Oh, Nick Lachey is Love Island. That's not his show. I tried to remember the name of the host of Love Island, and I couldn't get it. Macho latte with red heart jelly candies in it. Unless I barfed, dude. It's upsetting. Why would I want? It sucks. Why would I want jelly candies in anything, let alone my macho latte? Don't worry, Travis. They have a perfect match for you. Oh, they do. Bob's cell matcha latte is the ideal poolside companion starring our earthy and naturally sweet matcha with a side of strawberry and dragon fruit flavors. Strawberry heart jellies pop up in this bright green drink. To choke you to death. To kill you. Disgusting. You can get these bombshells at Scooter's Coffee locations beginning June 18th, Griffin. So go and celebrate.

Hi, my name is Brea Grant and I host Reading Glasses and Reading Smut, and I'm here with Max Fun Member of the Month, Nick Roy. Thank you so much. What episode would you recommend to a new listener who's just jumping in for the first time? Oh, definitely the one where it's like, 'Let's talk about Reading Glasses.' Because as someone who started listening, what, seven years in, even I was like, 'Oh, that's why we say that.' Oh my god, Mallory's going to love that you said that because she really was like, 'We got to tell people more about ourselves.' I'm like, 'We just talk about ourselves every week.' What would you say to other people who are considering supporting Maximum Fun shows? I would say if you want to keep listening to content that you enjoy and you want to support the creators, 'Oh no, I just won't get a Starbucks once a week and I can give you guys 10 bucks a month.' Sounds good to me. I love that. And listen to Nick. Nick's a librarian, he knows what he's talking about. Support the shows you love, including this one. Or that Flint, Michigan was once home to an indoor amusement park themed around the automobile? If those things sound interesting, you should definitely check us out every Tuesday on Maximum Fun or wherever you get podcasts. Goodbye, get back to your dishes now, it's fine.

Let's Learn Everything31:17-31:49
All right, we're over 70 episodes into our show. Let's learn everything. So let's do a quick progress check. Have we learned about quantum physics? Yes, episode 59. We haven't learned about the history of gossip yet, have we? Yes, we have. Same episode, actually. Have we talked to Tom Scott about his love of roller coasters? Episode 64. So how close are we to learning everything? Bad news. We still haven't learned everything yet. Oh! We're ruined! No, no, no. It's good news as well. There is still a lot to learn. I'm Dr. Ella Hubber. I'm regular Tom Lum. I'm Caroline Roper. And on Let's Learn Everything, we learn about science and a bit of everything else too. And although we haven't learned everything yet, I've got a pretty good feeling about this next episode. Join us every other Thursday on Maximum Fun.
