if you want to learn more about the unwritten laws and how everything is how all this stuff coheres there are two wrong approaches that you should not take to reading the epic cycle one is to just say these are a bunch of demon worshiping pagans and they only do bad things and just to judge everything they're doing purely by the standards of christian morality. And the other would be to basically, the other would basically be to misunderstand everything they do, again, in terms of like kind of a modern liberal Christian morality, right? Which, again, this is my biggest criticism of the film is that Nolan seems to do this with Xenia to me. But there's another way. There's another way. And so if you come and take our Universal History Masterclass, we're going to spend a couple of weeks on this just just building out a framework for reading and understanding the epic cycle and then actually looking at the ways that Christians not just in the West but a lot of people will not be aware that actually there's a long tradition of reading the Odyssey and the Iliad in the East where we never stop being able to read things in Greek and uh there's a really long tradition of of reading the epic cycle in a way that influences storytelling in a way that even influences the poetry of Holy Week.
