Tunnel. The Towers Foundation undertaking the most comprehensive commemoration in its history, one that honors the past and educates generations of tomorrow. Tunnel to Towers Foundation created a cross-country exhibit bringing a piece of the World Trade Center to as many cities as possible. The effort is called Steel Across America. The centerpiece is a 24-foot steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center. Today, the exhibits in San Francisco open to the public as we speak. Steel Across America travels through September to various landmark locations, sporting events, and town squares. This symbol of resilience creates moments of connection for those who live through 9-11. and educational opportunities for those too young to remember. The Steel Across America journey represents more than remembrance. It's a bridge between generations, a reminder that the spirit of service embodied by FDNY firefighters Stephen Siller and so many others continues to inspire Americans today.
